Women can share information in
relation to incidents of rape and/or sexual assault that they experience whilst
involved in prostitution.
Information is shared with other women involved in prostitution to alert
them to dangerous people. Support
is also be provided for women who choose to make a formal complaint.
Access to justice
Vice Versa provides greater access to justice
and protection for women involved in prostitution who are often targeted by
dangerous individuals but are frequently reluctant to report these incidents to
the police. These offenders are often serial sexual predators who pose a huge
risk to the public as a whole. What we do is:
- Take reports of incidents from women involved
in prostitution and produce anonymised warnings which we can share with other
women
- With consent, share anonymous intelligence to
the police.
- We have access to an advocacy worker who can
support women through the process of making full reports to the police and
throughout the court process so that the perpetrators can be identified,
arrested and convicted.
- Ensure women have access to professional
services when they have been a victim of crime.
